CAFOD Lent Appeal: The total for the Lent appeal is now in excess of £9m (before we receive UK Aid Match Funding from the Government). We had been planning a £2m programme to ensure the provision of safe water for thousands of people. We are now significantly scaling up that programme which means that many thousands more people currently in dire need will be provided with sustainable water resources for the long term. This will have a huge and transforming impact on their lives. We will provide updates on progress in future issues of the CAFOD magazine (‘Side by Side’) and on our website. Once again thank you so much for the generosity that you and your community have shown towards those in greatest need.

Confirmations: Thank you so much for all the hard work that so many people put into making the celebration of Confirmation such a wonderful occasion. A special word of thanks must go to Christine Martin for co-ordinating the catechesis of the young people and Paul Blake for compiling the booklet; Jane and the band did a spectacular job as always. The flowers were lovely so thank you to Pat and Lynne for those. Teresa Quinn played an invaluable role in coordinating the celebration in the school. Charles and the altar servers also did a great job. There are also so many other jobs, such as cleaning the brass and all the other tasks, often unseen, that make for a great celebration. So thank you all very much. The way that the people of St Edmund’s Parish work together and ensure that functions, and indeed the parish, are a success, will be something I will miss very much when I go.
Rotas: This quarter's rotas (In the porch) include the summer holidays. If you cannot attend on the date given please make an effort to find a replacement and if all fails please contact me. Teresa 813367
